FAQ

Fees & Insurance

What are your fees?

I have a standard fee, which I prefer to discuss over the phone prior to our meeting. I am happy to provide you with a statement outlining services for you to submit for insurance reimbursement.

Do you accept insurance?

There are four important questions to ask your insurance company:

  • How many sessions does my plan cover per calendar year?
  • What is my deductible and have I met it?
  • What is my co-payment?
  • Does my coverage include out-of-network providers? If so, what percentage of the bill?

Session Length

How long is a session?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Longer or shorter sessions can be scheduled depending on specific client needs and circumstances. Often, in the beginning it is helpful for couples and families to begin with an 80 minute session.

Frequency & Duration

How often should I go to therapy?

Most people come once a week to start. It often happens that as people confront problems, these problems begin to seem less acute, and they feel comfortable coming bi-weekly, monthly or as-needed. If problems are particularly pressing, it may make sense to come more than once a week.
